Deep Water

He must admit there is nothing
that thrills like the feeling
which utterly consumes him
when his gaze meshes with hers;
he is astounded by her deep-water eyes.

Sensing such peace in her presence,
he breathes deeply without even trying,
as beside her his mind wanders and discovers
such distant and unexplored lands
across which to be danced.

But after time has trudged…

He must admit there have been
few feelings of such immense revulsion
like those of which she gave him;
As her gaze bored into him
with its deep-water lies.

Sensing an evil lingering after she left
he felt a desperate need for fresh air,
as apart from her he could see her tricks,
grown from a wilderness of pure rage…
He scurried away faster than he could say goodbye.
